NC State’s 2011-12 Equal Opportunity Institute is accepting applications through Thursday, Sept. 15.

The yearlong professional development program is designed to improve participants’ effectiveness in a diverse workplace. It’s free to faculty, staff and students.

Here are some of the topics covered:

• Discrimination and harassment prevention
• Diversity conflict management
• Cross-cultural communication
• Leadership in diversity

The institute is sponsored by the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity in partnership with Human Resources and the Center for Student Leadership, Ethics and Public Service.
