Rhetoric Society Honors Miller

English professor Carolyn R. Miller was named Fellow of the Rhetoric Society of America at its biennial meeting in Minneapolis on May 30. She has served the RSA as board member, conference organizer and president from 1990 to 2000. She is editor of the society’s journal, Rhetoric Society Quarterly.

Fellows of the RSA are named in recognition of sustained and distinguished scholarship, teaching and service in the field of rhetorical studies.

Miller was the founding director of the Ph.D. in communication, rhetoric and digital media, an interdisciplinary program involving English and communication faculty. A faculty member since 1973, she is the SAS Institute Distinguished Professor of Rhetoric and Technical Communication.
