Twitter Co-Creator to Envision ‘Beyond the Web’

Dom Sagolla, co-creator of Twitter and founder of DollarApp, will be speaking about using the Internet “Beyond the Web” at North Carolina State University on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 8 p.m. in Stewart Theatre in NC State’s Talley Student Center. Media coverage of the event is invited.

Sagolla’s talk will place the Web in historical context from its inception by specialist experts to its near ubiquity in developed society. He’ll further illustrate how today’s Web is just a glimpse of marvels that are around the corner.

The speech is the keynote address of the CI Days event being held Sept. 7 and 8 at NC State. The event will focus on how cyberinfrastructure (CI) – computers, software, networks and people – is affecting the way we think, create, govern and do business. Over the course of CI Days, experts from around the country will discuss CI opportunities and challenges on issues ranging from public health to eGovernment to video games.

Talley Student Center is located on Cates Avenue near the intersection with Morrill Drive. Parking is available at the Coliseum deck, next to Reynolds Coliseum.
