Book Harvests Gardening Advice
A new book has handpicked advice for North Carolina gardeners, harvested from an award-winning Cooperative Extension newsletter.
The Successful Gardener Guide draws on a decade’s worth of Extension’s Successful Gardener newsletter, winner of the Garden Writers Association Award.
Founding editor Leah Chester-Davis teamed up with Extension agent and acclaimed garden author Toby Bost to produce the 254-page book, complete with color-coded chapters for easy reference.
The Successful Gardener Guide contains a wealth of information on ecologically sound practices and pest management. In addition to frequently asked questions, the book has money-saving gardening tips, lists of recommended plant varieties by zone and monthly calendars for mountain, Piedmont and coastal regions.
The book, published by John F. Blair, will be available in April for $19.95. You can preorder copies at www.blairpub.com/alltitles/successfulgardenerguide.html, IndieBound.com, Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.
