Student Publishes Book on the Iraq War

Russell Snyder, an international studies student and Iraq War veteran, published a new book this month: “Hearts and Mines with the Marines in Al Anbar,” now selling on Amazon.

On Wednesday, Oct. 17, CHASS hosts a panel celebrating Snyder’s new book from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in Withers Hall room 232-A. Snyder’s book chronicles his experiences as a psychological operations specialist in the U.S. Army. Snyder received various military awards including the Bronze Star. Other panelists include Sam Winstead, a World War II Marine veteran, John Heuer, a U.S. Coast Guardsman in 1965 and Timothy Virgilio, a licensed clinical social worker specializing in veteran issues.
