White to Lead NC Sea Grant and WRRI

Ecologist Susan N. White will be the new executive director for North Carolina Sea Grant and the Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI) for the University of North Carolina. The new appointment is effective upon Michael P. Voiland’s retirement in December. White currently directs Hollings Marine Laboratory in Charleston, S.C.

“White brings a strong science background as well as leadership working with a mix of partners and stakeholders,” says Vice Chancellor Terri L. Lomax.

White looks forward to the opportunity to work with excellent teams.
