Unveiling the Newly Renovated Utility Plant

The newly renovated Cates Utility Plant, which now boasts cogeneration technology, will be officially unveiled next week at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the facility. The utility plant will save more than $4 million a year in utility costs and help reduce NC State’s greenhouse gas emissions by 8 percent toward the university’s goal of climate neutrality by 2050. The event takes place Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at 2811 Cates Avenue. Tours will be available following the ceremony. The event is free, but space is limited. Read more and RSVP by Nov. 9.
