NC State Farmers Market Returns

From Italian herbs to Italian art to Italian ice, the new location of the NC State campus farmers market has a little Mediterranean flavor to it here in the late days of spring.

But the organizers of the student-led weekly market, which started on June 10 and will run through Aug. 19, expect the palate of home-grown and -made treats to evolve as summer arrives.

The first installment of the market—now located at 2306 Hillsborough St., in a parking lot between Jimmy John’s and the former Hot Box Pizza restaurant—included veggies from Moore’s Produce in Johnston County, honey from Durham and locally baked breads.

The market, which was closed unexpectedly in recent weeks, is now open on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Keep up with what’s happening at the market via its website, on Twitter and on Facebook.
