Wolfpack Outfitters, Starbucks Now Open at Talley

Current and future students, camp and orientation parents and a handful of faculty and staff were lined up early Monday morning for an apparel and caffeine fix when both Wolfpack Outfitters and Starbucks Coffee opened their doors for the first time at the new Talley Student Union.

The two-story Wolfpack Outfitters is the new flagship location for the NC State Bookstores, well-stocked with an expanded assortment of Pack-branded apparel and souvenirs of all kinds. It replaces the old Student Supply Stores that was built in the 1950s near the same spot. Since the demolition of that building four years ago, the primary bookstore has been housed on the first floor of Harrelson Hall.

The store is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the summer, but not yet complete. More fixtures, such as a make-up counter and class-ring display, will be added before the fall semester begins. It is also opened from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturdays, but closed all day on Sundays.

Starbucks, which is opened Monday through Friday only from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., is located at the outside entrance to Wolfpack Outfitters, near the corner of Cates Avenue and Morrill Drive. It features the popular chain’s hand-crafted beverages, freshly brewed coffees, pastries and sandwiches.
