Grad Programs Climb Atop the Rankings
U.S. News & World Report has ranked five NC State graduate programs among the best in the nation.
Five of NC State University’s graduate programs have earned impressive marks in the latest national college rankings from U.S. News & World Report.
The College of Veterinary Medicine rose one spot this year to claim the No. 4 position among the nation’s veterinary schools. This ranking extends the college’s long run among the top five in its field.
The graduate program at NC State’s Department of Statistics placed No. 18 in 2026, once again ranking among the top 20 programs in the country.
The College of Education climbed one spot this year to No. 26 in the nation, which also makes it the home of North Carolina’s No. 1 graduate program in education.
The College of Engineering came in at No. 28 in 2026, maintaining an extended streak of consecutive appearances in the nation’s top 30 graduate engineering programs.
In addition, NC State’s graduate computer science program broke into the top 50 this year by climbing five spots to No. 46.
U.S. News calculates its rankings based on a combination of statistical measures that indicate educational quality, such as student scores on admissions tests, and peer assessments of a university’s academic reputation.
