US launches three biodefense centres, Nature Newsblog, June 18, 2012. The US Department of Health and Human Services awarded contracts for the creation of three new centers in Maryland, North Carolina and Texas tasked with responding to future pandemics threats and biological attacks. Novartis will expand its laboratory facilities in Holly Springs and work with nearby NC State and Duke University.
