Arts Medalists Have Campus Ties

A composer, costume designer and cultural arts advocate with ties to NC State are among the 2010 winners of the Raleigh Medal of Arts, the city’s highest arts honor presented for lifetime achievement. J. Mark Scearce, William Ivey Long and Banks C. Talley Jr. will be honored Oct. 6.

The Revolution

Wedged into a series of small rooms on the third floor of Witherspoon Student Center, the entirely student-run WKNC 88.1 FM serves up an around-the-clock, steady mix of music - everything from punk and metal to rap and a cappella. It's a seriously successful formula that has earned 88.1 FM bragging rights as the Triangle's top station of its kind.

Textiles Prof Elected

The Society of Dyers and Colourists’ board elected Dr. Renzo Shamey, associate professor of textiles, as a fellow of the society.

The Society of Dyers and Colourists’ board elected Dr. Renzo Shamey, associate professor of textiles, as a fellow of the society. Shamey joined NC State in 2003. He directs the polymer and color chemistry program in the Department of Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science.
