Emergency Drill March 13

NC State will hold a full-scale emergency exercise on campus from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday, March 13. The exercisea simulation of a severe weather situationwill take place near the residence halls of Tucker, Owen, Turlington, Alexander, Carroll, Bowen and Metcalf.

Delays and disruptions to normal campus operations can be expected during the exercise. Students in and around these residence halls will experience disruptions to their normal routines and some may be evacuated from their rooms. In addition, travel may be disrupted on roads in the area, including:

  • Cates Avenue at Dan Allen Drive
  • Cates Avenue at Morrill Drive
  • Cates Avenue at the Price Music Center
  • Cates Avenue between Witherspoon Hall and Tucker Hall

There will be no vehicle access to the Pullen Hall lot. Alternate parking will be available in the Dan Allen Parking Deck. Pedestrians will be able to access all buildings along Cates Avenue.

Public safety officers will be present to observe the exercise; please follow their directions if you are in the area during the exercise. Participants in the exercise include University Housing resident advisers and resident directors, NC State police and other local emergency personnel, University Emergency Operations officials and volunteer actors.

NC State frequently holds emergency exercises to test university and outside agency response and operational capabilities.
