NC State Experts Offer Insight on Relations Between Russia, U.S. and Western Europe
Experts at North Carolina State University can offer important insights into U.S. and European diplomatic concerns stemming from the ongoing conflict between Russia and Georgia over the regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, as well as a recent agreement to site a U.S. missile defense system on Polish soil in return for assistance on Polish defense issues.
Dr. William Boettcher, associate professor of political science, 919/515-5096 or william_boettcher@ncsu.edu, is an expert on U.S. foreign policy and can address the diplomatic challenges and decisions facing the United States as a result of the Russia/Georgia conflict and the U.S.’s recent missile shield agreement with Poland.
Mark Nance, a lecturer in political science, 919/515-3729 or mark_nance@ncsu.edu, conducts research on international relations in Europe. Nance can address various European political and diplomatic concerns stemming from the Russia/Georgia conflict – such as the fate of the sole oil pipeline in Eastern Europe that is not on Russian soil.
