Energize at Employee Appreciation Day

Who says spring break is just for students? Celebrate with food, fun and games during Employee Appreciation Day on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Carmichael Gym. Even if you work off campus, you can play online games and win a prize.

Wednesday is your chance to eat like an undergraduate. There’s free Howling Cow Ice Cream and it’s only $1 for a hot dog or pizza slice with soft drink.

You can indulge your inner child with a ride on an oversized tricycle or a game of musical chairs. If you think you’re smarter than a fifth grader, stop by the trivia lounge for Wolfpack editions of Jeopardy and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Those who work off campus can compete in online NC State Family Feud, complete with prizes. The contest opens Wednesday at http://go.ncsu.edu/appreciation.

You won’t see American Idol’s Steven Tyler at Carmichael, but you can step up to the microphone for karaoke. If you prefer sports to song, release your March Madness in the Wolfpack Basketball Shootout or work out your aggression with the Carolina Hurricanes Slapshot Contest. Raleigh risk takers can try to be 21 again at the blackjack table, one of several casino-style games.

For a sure thing, take advantage of spring break discounts from a dozen Hillsborough Street businesses all week. You can save on bowling, tanning, reading, eating and more.
