Safrit Wins National Award

Dr. R. Dale Safrit, graduate program director and extension specialist, has won a national award for innovative youth programs and leadership.

The National Association of Extension 4-H Agents presented Safrit with a Meritorious Service Award during the annual conference in Phoenix.

Safrit, a professor in the Department of 4-H Youth Development and Family and Consumer Sciences, directs the Family Life and Youth Development Leadership graduate program. He leads the 4-H human resource development team and coordinates statewide professional development programs.

Safrit conducts research on administration and leadership of nonprofit programs with an emphasis on professional development. He serves as editor of the International Journal of Volunteer Administration.
