Important Voting Information

During voting time, certain rules exist for NC State employees. For instance, on Election Day employees should plan to vote before or after their regular work schedule or, during a work break. State policy does not provide paid work time for voting.

Additionally, with reasonable advance request, supervisors may authorize employees to use their available annual leave, bonus leave, or special leave to cover work time missed for voting. Supervisors can authorize an adjusted work schedule during the same work week to accommodate any missed work time for voting on Election Day.

Note also that only Wake County residents can vote early at the on-campus site. The Campus Early Voting Center, located at Talley Student Center, Room 3118, is open now through Nov. 3 during the following times:

Monday, Oct. 22 to Friday, Oct. 26 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 27 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 28 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 29 to Friday, Nov. 2 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 3 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Information on additional early-voting centers is available here. For additional policy details, read “Voting & Community Service” on the Department of Human Resources website.
