Meet the Future

Meet Andrew, Hillary and KeJuan. Meet the future.

Andrew Miller, Hillary Spangler and KeJuan Weaver, all members of the class of 2013, are benefiting from the generosity of NC State donors as recipients of some of the university’s top scholarships and fellowships. They’re transforming the world around them already, and they’re just getting started.

Miller, a native of Elon and bioengineering major, is a Park Scholar. Since coming to NC State in 2009, he’s worked with faculty in the College of Veterinary Medicine to develop new prosthetics.

Asheboro native Spangler, a Caldwell Fellow, is studying nutrition. She’s also applying it, through a healthy food choice program she’s developed for use in Randolph County schools.

Weaver, also a Caldwell Fellow, has been in the classroom, too. As an elementary education major, he’s a student teacher. He also volunteers with the Boys & Girls Club, helping kids with homework and serving as a role model to them.

Andrew, Hillary, KeJuan and their fellow students are the future. And the future looks bright.
