Two-Day Emergency Exercise

For two days next week (Nov. 24-25), NC State’s campus will participate in  “Operation Red Rail II,” a full-scale Federal Emergency Management Agency-sponsored emergency exercise.

Tuesday’s all-day event, from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., will include FEMA,  Environmental Health and Public Safety, and other federal state, county and local emergency personnel simulating a train derailment on the tracks that split main campus. There is no planned disruption to traffic or services on campus and classes will not be affected.

Signs will be in place to announce that the exercise is in progress.

Wednesday’s follow-up event should have no impact on campus.
