Engineering Programs Earn High Marks in Latest Rankings
In the 2027 undergraduate rankings from U.S. News & World Report, NC State’s engineering programs scored well across a range of disciplines. The university also ranked highly as a best value for students.
NC State garnered impressive rankings in U.S. News & World Report’s latest assessment of undergraduate programs at the nation’s colleges and universities.
The university ranked No. 22 among the nation’s best values for in-state students at public institutions of higher education. NC State also ranked as a No. 32 best value among all public colleges.
In addition, NC State ranked No. 43 among the best colleges for veterans, continuing a long run in the nation’s top 50.
Engineering Dominates Top-20 Lists
NC State’s engineering programs once again made a dominant showing in the U.S. News rankings, with eight programs ranked in the top 20 in their respective fields.
Biological and agricultural engineering ranked highest, at No. 7. Other engineering rankings include the following:
- #11 Industrial and manufacturing engineering
- #13 Software engineering
- #14 Environmental engineering
- #17 Chemical engineering
- #18 Materials engineering
- #19 Civil engineering
- #19 Computer engineering
U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings assess more than 1,700 colleges and universities based on measures that include first-year retention rates, graduation rates and graduate success.
