Engineers Make Top 10 Breakthroughs List

A project led in part by NC State engineers has been named among the “Physics World’s” top 10 scientific breakthroughs for the year. The research team sent a beam of neutrinos through earth with a tiny message in binary code reading, “neutrino.” This communication was the first time information has been transmitted with the particles, which can pass through almost anything because they have no electrical charge and little mass.
