Live It Up

More than a decade of brainstorming, planning and construction will come to a close Sept. 25 as NC State helps celebrate the dedication of an improved Hillsborough Street corridor that frames the north border of our campus. Activities will begin at 12 p.m., with a marathon run of entertainment options - on four stages - suitable for visitors of all ages.

Waschka Film Collects Awards

Horizons, a film created by NC State composer Rodney Waschka and director Zlatko Cosic, took first place in the computer animation category at the Stella Artois St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase in July and first place in the experimental category at the Sunscreen Film Festival in St. Petersburg, Fla., in April.

Building a Future

As the Wolfpack makes final preparations for its first game Saturday vs. Western Carolina, more than a dozen NC State football players can sit back, smile and think, "Well, this isn't the hardest thing I've done in the last three months." No matter what happens on the football field, it may not be as rewarding as the volunteer work they did this summer with Habitat for Humanity.

Living Legacy

Members of the Wolfpack family gathered at the new Coaches' Corner on Tuesday afternoon to remember the late Kay Yow and dedicate a bronze sculpture in her honor. The idea to memorialize Yow - NC State's women's basketball coach for 34 years - grew out of a student suggestion during campus elections.
