Glad to the Bone

A Siberian husky with a missing foot will get his first chance to run in the snow thanks to a custom-made prosthetic from NC State. Dr. Denis Marcellin-Little, professor of orthopedic surgery, and a team of NC State engineers and surgeons are providing him a custom-made, osseointegrated implant that will replace a faulty wrist joint and front paw.

Senior Superlatives

NC State graduating seniors Justin Michael Boucher, Kristy Craig, Jeffrey Johnson and Marycobb Randall were honored with the Mathews Medal, named for Walter J. Mathews, the first student enrolled at the North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts in 1889.

During Spring Break, student body president Kelly Hook traveled to Russia alongside colleagues from 14 other American universities. From meetings with high-level Russian politicians to seeing NC State souvenir nesting dolls awaiting her purchase, it was an adventure that Hook hopes will help grow NC State's relationship with residents of the world's largest country.
